An international online marketplace operating across multiple European markets. The platform facilitates complex B2B transactions and combines buyer facing journeys with sophisticated back office systems.

Following a recent restructuring, the engineering organisation is now smaller, more senior, and focused on raising the technical bar. There are five feature teams working across the platform, supported by DevOps and product leadership with strong technical backgrounds.

Functie omschrijving

As Senior / Lead QA Automation Engineer, you will define and implement a future proof QA strategy while leading a small team of three QA engineers.

Your responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing an automation first QA strategy

• Building and scaling regression test suites

• Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines as blocking quality gates

• Evaluating and optimising the current Cypress setup

• Introducing modern tooling such as Playwright where appropriate

• Increasing developer ownership in testing

• Coaching and developing the existing QA team

• Acting as a change agent within engineering culture

This role requires both strategic thinking and hands on execution. You will shape testing standards, tooling decisions, and quality processes across five feature teams.

Functie eisen

We are looking for someone who combines technical depth with leadership capability.

You bring:

• Strong experience in test automation within JavaScript or TypeScript environments

• Hands on experience with Cypress and or Playwright

• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines

• Proven ability to design and implement regression testing strategies

• Experience influencing developers and engineering stakeholders

• The ability to lead a team while remaining technically involved

Nice to have:

• Experience in React based frontend ecosystems

• Experience working in cloud native environments

• Experience modernising QA teams in growing organisations

• Exposure to AI driven testing tools
