Build the backend of a fast-growing VC-backed SaaS platform. As a Python Backend Developer, you’ll design scalable APIs, integrate LLM workflows, and power real-time infrastructure — all in a lean, product-focused engineering team.

Our client is a VC-backed SaaS scale-up based in the Netherlands. Their platform combines AI, automation, and workflow orchestration to support smarter decision-making across Europe.
The tech team is compact and works fully in-house, with full ownership over architecture and product direction. The engineering culture is fast, pragmatic and collaborative. Work setup is hybrid: typically 2 days per week in-office (Randstad region).
Job Description

Build and maintain scalable backends using Python (FastAPI or Flask)

Design APIs that power AI workflows and modular decision logic

Work with Redis and WebSockets to support real-time features
-
Improve testing, performance, and system security

Collaborate with product, frontend and fellow engineers
-
Contribute to architecture, deployment pipelines and monitoring
Job Requirements
-
5+ years of backend experience, preferably 3+ in a SaaS or product environment
-
Proficient in Python and familiar with modern API frameworks (FastAPI, Flask)

Hands-on experience with Redis, Docker, GitHub Actions or equivalent tools
-
Exposure to LLMs or AI integrations (or interest in working with them)

Broad technical knowledge across architecture, CI/CD, security and testing

Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus

Must be living in the Netherlands with valid EU work authorization

Monthly salary: €5500 – €7000 gross + 8% holiday allowance
