What will you get to do?

As a developer at our client, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining their software package. The focus is now on advancing to the scaleup phase. Where previously the focus was on making pivots and new features, it is now about scalability, performance and support. It's up to you to make sure that the base remains stable and running smoothly while keeping the innovation rate high.

Our client wants to invest in setting up a robust integration test suite and new business logic with DDD. They want to work more with Unit testing and do a lot of reviewing to ensure quality. An integration pipeline has already been set up where new features are automatically tested and can be deployed at the touch of a button. It is a monolithic system with everything in one repository, divided into modules. In the future, it will become more event-driven.

You will work in a small team developing serious software for the staffing industry. Our client now wants to focus more on implementing standards and improving links so that everything runs well for the staffing agencies. There are also new developments on the finance piece, such as upfront costing with dynamic pricing and machine learning elements. This involves a lot of data, such as travel distance, work history and qualifications.

As a developer at our client, it is important to be strategic and proactive, requiring refactoring but not throwing things away to rebuild. You will work on expanding the foundation of the software package and continuing to build out the integration pipeline. In short, a challenging position where you will play an important role in the growth of our client to a full scaleup.

What are your skills?

Do you possess the following skills then we would like to get in touch with you! At least 5 years of experience as a developer.

• Experience building and scaling software applications
• Experience with Node.js and related technologies such as Express, MongoDB and AWS
• Experience setting up integration test suites and implementing standards
• Experience with Unit testing and code review processes
• Experience with DDD (Domain Driven Design) is a plus
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture
• A pragmatic approach and the ability to be proactive in setting up strategic projects
• A passion for innovation and a commitment to high quality and stability
• The ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and processes
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, as the team is small and communication lines are short.
