Backend Engineer (Python, FastAPI, Platform)
As a Backend Engineer, you will help build and scale the backend systems of a fast-growing healthtech platform. You’ll work on designing APIs, integrating multiple systems, and building a scalable foundation for future growth.

About the Company
This is a fast-growing healthtech scale-up focused on improving access to digital healthcare services. The platform connects users, medical professionals, and logistics into one seamless experience.
The company is currently transitioning from a set of connected tools and systems into a fully in-house built platform. This creates a strong opportunity for engineers who want to build core systems from the ground up.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for building and maintaining backend services that power the platform. The role combines hands-on development with architectural thinking, especially as the system evolves into a scalable product.
What you’ll do
- Build backend services using Python (FastAPI)
- Design and maintain RESTful APIs
- Integrate external and internal systems
- Work on data flows between different parts of the platform
- Improve system performance and scalability
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and operations teams
Requirements
- 4+ years of backend development experience with Python
- Experience designing APIs and working with integrations
- Familiar with cloud environments (GCP, AWS or Azure)
- Experience with relational databases
- Able to work independently in a fast-moving environment
- Strong communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience with FastAPI
- Experience building systems from scratch
- Background in scalable or high-growth environments
- Experience with data-heavy platforms

- Salary between €7,000 – €10,000 per month
