We’re looking for a Senior PHP/Laravel Engineer who loves the craft — someone who sees the beauty in a well-designed monolith, the challenge in high-throughput systems and the satisfaction of solving problems at scale.

Our platform is built on a modern Laravel monolith (no legacy chaos), supported by a React/Node/MongoDB Editor/Player and a Learning Record Store. Multi-tenancy, translations, and performance tuning are not edge cases here — they’re your day-to-day playground.

Job description

• Own features end-to-end in our Laravel modern monolith

• Design and evolve architecture for multi-tenancy, performance, translations and security

• Apply TDD/ATDD and raise our testing culture across the team

• Use AI to build tests, generate fixtures, propose refactors and analyse logs

• Contribute to our AI-first engineering playbook (yes, we’re writing the book as we go)

• Collaborate closely with Product, UX and QA in small, high-ownership squads

• Mentor engineers and elevate the craft of Laravel development

• Help shape engineering standards for a platform used across Europe

Requirements

• 7+ years professional software engineering

• 3–5+ years experience with Laravel in PHP 8.x

• Strong grasp of Clean Code, SOLID and modern architecture

• Comfort in large, evolving codebases

• MySQL/Aurora experience, plus Redis, queues, events and API design

• A genuine interest in AI-assisted engineering (or already doing it)

• Clear communication in English or Dutch

Bonus points if you’ve worked with:
multi-tenant SaaS, translation workflows, GitHub Actions, AWS Vapor, Docker, Terraform, Playwright or Sentry.
