Job description
This is a hands on senior engineering role inside our modern Laravel monolith that powers multi tenant, multilingual learning experiences at scale.
You won’t just write code.
You will help redefine how software gets built.
You will:
• Own features end to end — architecture, implementation, testing and observability
• Design scalable patterns for multi tenancy, performance and internationalization
• Use AI intelligently:
– scaffolding tests
– generating fixtures
– analysing logs
– proposing refactoring options
– validating architecture
– improving developer experience
• Contribute to our internal AI Engineering Playbook
• Collaborate daily with Product, UX and QA in a cross functional squad
• Mentor peers in both Laravel and AI assisted development
• Raise quality standards through reviews, documentation and strong testing
This team ships product features, improves developer experience and continuously seeks ways to make AI part of our daily workflow.

Core Platform: Laravel (modern monolith), PHP 8.x, MySQL/Aurora, Redis, Blade/Livewire, Filament
Front-end & Player: React, Node.js, MongoDB
Infra (AWS): Vapor/Lambda, S3, CloudFront, Route53, Terraform, Traefik
Quality: PHPUnit/Pest, Playwright E2E, GitHub Actions
Observability: Sentry incl. Replay, CloudWatch
Internationalization: Crowdin/Phrase, Postmark
Requirements
Must Have
• 7+ years professional engineering experience
• 3–5+ years hands on Laravel (PHP 8.x)
• Mastery of SOLID, Clean Code and TDD
• Strong MySQL and performance skills
• Experience in complex, mission critical platforms
• Clear communication (English C1+ or Dutch)
• A proactive, experimental mindset toward AI assisted engineering
Nice to Have
• Multi tenant SaaS
• Livewire/Filament
• AWS Vapor, Terraform, Docker
• Playwright E2E, Meilisearch
• Experience with regulated industries or large data migrations
• Demonstrated use of agents/AI tools in real engineering workflows
